Beautiful books are at the centre of Bänziger Hug's work. The atelier on Eisengasse in St. Gallen, run by Samuel Bänziger and Olivier Hug, is dedicated to book design and typography. The focus lies on demanding publications in architecture, art and design, as well as culturally significant works. The two designers work for the German-speaking region and for international clients. The quality of their work is reflected in a long list of awards. Titles have repeatedly been honoured as «Schönste Schweizer Bücher» (Most Beautiful Swiss Books), from 2013 to 2026. In addition, the atelier received international bronze medals for book design in 2024 and 2025. In 2024, it was also awarded the renowned Jan Tschichold Prize. These accolades confirm a firm place in European book art. Bänziger Hug focuses on a select few, carefully attended projects and is currently not looking for interns or new team members.
