Why a 32-point checklist instead of a 5-point overview

Most briefings fail on gaps in the details, not on big strategic omissions. A 5-point list ("what, who, how, when, how much") looks tidy but leaves the critical detail questions open: Who holds owner rights to the tracking accounts? Is the pitch phase paid? Which interfaces with the in-house team need to be coordinated? Are the KPIs concretely measurable or just wishy-washy?

Our checklist covers the 32 typical pitfalls that repeatedly create friction in mandates between Swiss SMEs and agencies. Every ticked point means a lower probability of conflict during the running mandate.

Frequently asked questions about the briefing checklist

How many points do I need to tick off?+
The checklist has 32 items in 7 categories. For a complete briefing you should tick them all — each point covers a typical pitfall in Swiss agency selection. For very small mandates you can skip individual points (e.g. pitch fees for solo mandates).
Is my progress saved?+
Yes, locally in your browser (localStorage). When you reload or come back the next day, you'll see your progress again. The data is not transmitted to mmesh.ai or any other server. If you clear your browser cache or use private mode, your progress is lost.
What happens once I've ticked off every point?+
You'll see a notice that your briefing is complete, plus two CTAs: either use the interactive AI briefing tool (Rea guides you through the online briefing) or fill in and print the web template. Both routes lead to a briefing you can send out.
Should I go through the checklist on my own?+
For SME mandates yes, it saves time. For mid-sized or corporate mandates, a joint workshop with the internal stakeholders (management, marketing leads, IT/tech) is worthwhile. The checklist makes a good workshop guide.
Why does the order of the categories matter?+
The 7 categories follow the natural briefing logic: who you are → what you want to achieve → what should be done → what it may cost → when it must be done → who may do it → how the process works. The other way round (e.g. budget before goal) creates unrealistic expectations.
Is there a print version?+
This interactive checklist is not meant for printing (progress saving would be lost). For a printable version, use our briefing template — it has all the same points on a printable web page with a print stylesheet.
