«The View Out Of My Window» – with this leitmotif, photographer Goran Potkonjak documents the megacities of East and Southeast Asia. His childhood experience in Zagreb, observing city life from a window, continues to shape the project to this day. Between 2017 and 2025, images were created in ten metropolises, including Seoul, Busan, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Bangkok, Singapore, Taipei and Kuala Lumpur; more recent work has taken him to Beijing, Xi'an, Chongqing and Guilin. From elevated as well as street-level perspectives, he distils urban scenes into a reflection on the future living conditions of humankind. His work spans architecture, people and reportage photography as well as industrial and construction documentation and moving image. The photo book is published by Zürich-based publisher Scheidegger & Spiess, designed by Bonbon Graphic Studio (Valeria Bonin and Diego Bontognali), with an essay by art historian Matthias Fischer. The book launch takes place on 1 November 2025 at the Doppelpunkt bookshop in Uster.
