For over 20 years, NEXTENSION has been developing digital platforms for culture and science. The Swiss UX and software boutique works for museums, libraries, archives, and research and cultural institutions. Its scope spans from the initial idea through to ongoing operation. The team designs visual concepts, plans UX and UI, and implements both frontend and backend. This is complemented by content management systems, database development, and the preparation of collections. Search and discovery platforms as well as audio guides are also part of the repertoire. For exhibitions, the team creates interactive installations, augmented reality applications, and VR prototypes. NEXTENSION consistently relies on open-source software and works in agile, co-creative processes. Sustainability and reusability shape every solution. Owner Kai Jauslin holds an MSc from ETH Zürich and a BA from ZHdK. Senior fullstack developer Cahit Atilgan complements the team with two degrees from ZHAW.
