Stephan Bösch photographs from Eastern Switzerland, with a studio in St. Gallen and his own photo lab. His eye is drawn to people, spaces and landscapes. The portfolio spans portraits, architectural photography and documentary reportage, as well as cultural and museum work. A particular focus lies on the Alpine world: mountain landscapes, scenery and living traditions such as the Alpaufzug. Regional themes from Appenzell, the Toggenburg and the Emmental shape many of his series, complemented by work from Italy, including the botanical garden of Padua and the area around Lake Como. One documented project focuses on the Kirchner Museum. Bösch works not only on commission but is also active as a publisher and curator: books and exhibitions accompany his work, and references attest to his collaboration with clients. The result is a body of work that combines photographic craft with a clear, calm visual language.
